FAQ's

Davis Counseling has a confidential voicemail, where you may leave your contact information. We will return your call within 24 hours on business days. You may also email us for scheduling purposes, but we cannot guarantee the confidentiality of email communications. In cases of emergency, please call 911 or contact an emergency provider.

This usually depends on your concerns and your preferences. Most clients come once a week, but we will work together to create a schedule that meets your needs.

Confidentiality is of utmost importance in counseling.  You can trust that anything you share in the counseling process will remain strictly confidential with a few very specific exceptions.  For example, if you reveal that you are planning to harm yourself or someone else, or if you give information about child or elder abuse, a counselor is required by law to report this information.

Like many private practices, we do not take insurance. However, Davis Counseling does offer services on a sliding scale, to ensure availability of services in cases of financial need. We also partner with several local nonprofits to offer pro bono services in certain cases.

Normally appointments run for 50 minutes and cost $125. We have a limited number of sliding scale appointments available, on a case by case basis.

We require a minimum of 24 hours notice for cancellations. If you need to cancel with less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged for the full cost of the session.

When you call to schedule your appointment we will have a brief conversation about your concerns. At Davis Counseling, we are equipped to handle a wide variety of concerns, but if your situation requires more specific training, we will be glad to refer you to a qualified practitioner.
