Adolescent Counseling
Adolescents today face unique challenges and pressures not experienced by past generations. The important experimentation and learning about relationships which occurs during this period of life is now complicated by the demands of technology and social media.
Studies have shown that problematic use or overuse of internet and social media by adolescents is associated with increased risk of depression, anxiety, ADHD symptoms, Obsessive Compulsive symptoms, social isolation, hostility/aggression, and sleep disorders.
Not surprisingly, teens and parents need support. At Davis Counseling, we will provide your adolescent with a supportive, nurturing environment, to help them navigate the pressures of coming of age in the age of technology.
The brain changes which occur during adolescence make it an ideal time for counseling. Because the adolescent brain is so adaptable and so rapidly changing, teens can benefit immensely from learning skills to control their thoughts, increasing emotional intelligence and resilience, and other life skills which will improve their self-concept and equip them to live their best life.

“Adolescence represents an inner emotional upheaval, a struggle between the eternal human wish to cling to the past and the equally powerful wish to get on with the future.”
